Lookalike audiences
A lookalike audience is a group of people who resemble a starting audience (customers, buyers, visitors) and are therefore more likely to respond in the same way.
You start with a high-quality seed audience and the platform searches its whole user base for people who share traits and behaviours with it. Almost every social network and many DSPs offer this feature, usually letting you choose between a smaller, closer match and a broader, less precise one.
The result depends on the seed. Start from a list of clicks and you find more people who click; start from people who have done something in the real world (gone to a concert, bought a category, visited a store) and you find people more likely to do the same. It is a way to scale without losing what made the original audience valuable.
