Cinema advertising
Cinema advertising refers to the ads screened in the auditorium before the film and, more broadly, to all brand communication aimed at cinemagoers.
A big-screen ad enjoys conditions few media can match: a darkened room, surround sound, no way to skip and an audience that has chosen to be there. It is complemented by activity in the foyer, premiere sponsorships and ticket promotions.
Its limit is that the impact stays inside the auditorium. That is why more and more campaigns extend the experience into digital, reaching cinemagoers on mobile, connected TV or social media before the screening, when they are choosing what to watch, or afterwards, to keep the brand in mind. Going to the cinema is a choice, and it says a lot about the tastes of the person who makes it.
