SDK (Software Development Kit)
An SDK is a toolkit that developers build into an app to add ready-made features, such as showing ads, measuring usage or connecting to a service.
It includes code libraries, documentation and examples. Instead of building an ad or analytics system from scratch, the app embeds the provider’s SDK and configures it.
In mobile advertising, SDKs make it possible to serve ads inside apps, measure impressions and conversions and, with the user’s permission, collect signals such as approximate location or proximity to beacons. That is why choosing and configuring them has a direct impact on privacy.
